Sure, I've got a gallon that should be here Thursday. BYOB (Bring Your Own Buffer)
Just let me know when!
Few of us were giong to have a "detailing day" at my friends house in ledgeview a few weeks ago. We got sidetracked and started working on the engine's again....
We should get together and share notes. I just picked up a (cheap) rotary buffer to play with. My friend has a 928 that needs paint so we were "playing" on his car since anything we screw up isn't going to make it worse. I'm not sure how much I'm going to use the D/A anymore......
Once I get the hang on this thing I will pick up the Makita.
I'm hoping to give wet sanding a try this weekend on my wife's Scirocco that has a lot of orange peal.

Cool! I have a Hitachi rotary but have only used it to do one test spot on my dad's old truck. With my order of D151 I have the solo backing plate coming also and want to try to do a bit more with it.
Do you have any M105? I just have a small bottle but if you want to try some I'm sure I could spare a bit. I was able to remove 2500 grit wetsanding marks by hand with it. It's a great product. Check out this link... M105 by hand vs 2500 grit wetsanding marks
I might be having a detailing weekend too. A friend wanted his truck done but I'm not sure if he's still coming to town. Otherwise the Jeep is in need of some care.
D151 has been a lil tricky for me lately...used it yesterday on a car in dear need of a lil polishing and wax..results were the D151 seemed to dry up/haze real quick with in 20 seconds of workng it, and i find myself coming close to a dry buff..car was not hot to the touch at all and no sun was over us, completely shaded...
I just got some D151 and tried it out on my Dad's 1958 Ford Skyliner. I didn't notice any dusting. Of course, I make sure I have plenty on the pad, don't work it in until it's bone dry and also work in a small area at a time. The car's hood, fenders and rear trunk/deck turned out smooth and shiny as glass. Love the stuff!!
The first time with 151 it dusted a lot when I did part of the hood. I shortened the work in time and paid closer attention to the 151 breaking down and have not had that problem.
I tried D151 over the weekend, started arround 5:30 AM, 80F+ and it was lots of moisture in the air.
I used rotary, 8006 pad and ZERO dust problem, I have never used D151 before, just gotta gallon from ADS.
I saw little rotary swirl marks after first run, I ran D151 again with 1,500 rpm with no DUST, top it with NXT2.
I finished 10 AM, I am pretty happy with the result. If I use #83, #80 and NXT2, I don't think I can finish before noon
