  • How do I remove these cobwebs?

    Hello MOL

I have a darkblue paint without clearcote which shines Okay, but it has got lots of Cobweb marks i guess. The marks looks like these ones on the first picture http://www.meguiarsonline.com/forums...ad.php?t=21066
I have tried with some scratchX and a polish, but it dosent remove all the scratches. Now i have gotten myself a rotary which looks alot like the makita, but which product do i need from the proffesional line?

    Best Regards Frank

Are you familiar with using a rotary or will this be your first time? Also are you sure you correctly applied the ScatchX putting passion behind the pad and working in small sections. Also have you tried working scratchX with a terry cloth? This method offers a little more bite for more severe defect removal. For working with a rotary if it is your first time i would recommend you start practicing on spare car panels from a body shop or something that does not mean so much to you because working with a rotary can be very dangerous and is different than using a orbital or DA polisher. Check these videos out on the rotary, it is very informative and well put together by some of the best in the business http://meguiarsonline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21362

I have been using a rotary a couple a times before, but i am still learning a lot of new things when reading here at MOL. Which products would be the best to use when removing those marks? Have been reading alot of good stuff about the #80, but is this agressive enough?

#80 can usually get the job done especially when working with a rotary and a W8006 foam polishing pad. I cant tell you if it will be aggressive enough or not because all paint are different and you always want to start with the least aggressive method first which is another reason you will see alot of people recommend #80 but single stage paints tend to be easier to work on and #80 can do wonders and leave behind a great finish. The best idea is to do a test spot on the car with #80 and see if you can get out all the defects and get the finish to your standards on the test area. Then once you fine tune your technique and considering #80 works then you can move on to the rest of the car but still working in small sections to give each area appropriate attention.

I have got some deep crystal paintcleaner, can I use this with the rotary to get those webs away?

            No you can't.
For Rotary Buffer products you should find something from the Professional Line

DC1 is compared to M09 Swirls Remover in aggressiveness, but this product is considered to be used in a multi step paint correction process, because it's very mild, so I would suggest if you are going to work with a rotary buffer then get some #80 Speed Glaze, very versatile product that can remove scratches and swirls in most cars
