  • Need help choosing... #83 and #80 after?

I recently start reading into the professional line and plan to get a product or two to use instead of deep crystal system + NXT 2.0.

It seems #80 is the workhorse the more I read, but basically if I want a product to somewhat act like scratch x in terms of removing some more heavier swirls and stuff, should I use #83 with a more cutting pad followed by #80 with polishing pad, or just do #80 with a more cutting pad followed by #82 on just a polishing pad? Followed by NXT of course.

Or are there more preferred options?

Just need some opinions on what you all are using!

Also, do I need to order these products online or will some auto stores carry them?

From strongest to weakest you would go:

    #83
    #80
    #82

and you would use the polishing pad for all of them. The cutting pad is not to applying products by PC. (Those very experienced can do it, but best not for those starting off.)

When applied with machine, #80 can be just as if not more effective than ScratchX in some situations, so it can be a bit hard to relate. Applying by machine changes a lot of factors, so you would want to do a test spot or two with #80 no matter what.

Some stores will carry them, I tend to order online.

Also, if your looking at M80 you should also check out M66.

How are you applying these products? (You didn't mention this).

Meguiar's doesn't recommend using our foam cutting pad with DA polisher in case that's what you're using.

Most paint systems can be cleaned and polished using just M80, others may require M83, but M80 is a lot easier to work with when using a DA Polisher.

M66 or ColorX is great for doing one steps or removing micro-marring.

Bet thing to do is to get a few products in your arsenal so you can alway test products to see which one is working best on your paint system.

Here's a article on machine cleaning and polshing....

Using the G-100 to remove swirls with the Professional Line

The above will work with any DA Polisher like the Porter Cable unit or our G110
