  • M83

I got a new bottle of M80 and M83 (never used M83 till today) on friday . So I finally got a chance use it on a test spot and I was seriously amazed at how it cut into alot of the fine deep scratches I had. So I did an entire fender only (tired from working on a friend car yesterday) and threw the brightest light at it. No visible maring (sp) could be seen and no swirls what so ever. Could I proceed with #26 or do I really need to go with M80 to make sure it is perfect from any fine scratchs, swirls and maring?

M83 works great and it is easily applied, but it sure does throws up alot of powder dust ...

    Thanks in advance.

If the surface is fine, then no follow up cleaner/polish is needed. On a darker car however, using a milder cleaner/polish or pure polish may add more looks.

      Thanks Murr1525.

Black cars are going to kill me! So, what pure polish would you recommend that I could use with the PC7424? Ive got an old bottle of DC2 if that is fine?

You can compare and create a side by side comparison, if you see results between #83 and #80 and you like it stick with it and continue duplicating that process to get that results.

If you don't see any difference then you can go directly to a cleaner wax or a wax, it's up to you.

What are you working on? What color is the paint?

DC2 would work.... #7 is top of the line.

Black Paint on both my cars...The Mustang is my main concern at this point. The S2000 is maintaining a fairly good swirl free paint job after I worked on it. Needs more work since M80 did not take out the water spots all the way and dealer hazed it up pretty good...and I sort of rushed it. So id like little to NO swirls after a wash like the S2000.

yalerd...will do as you suggest and check it out with the sun. Thanks.

For now I have given up on M83 because of that. M84 seems to work a lot better for me at least.

                      Re: M83

Man, I take it that M83 is very aggressive?

I did not put much pressure on the PC as to stopping the pad from spinning and I did not buff dry, but I just noticed on my test spot is starting to show the undercoat. Least I believe it is since I cant get the whiteness of the edge to come off. Fender meeting the hood ( Hood portion ).

Am I correct to assume that one should not use M83 on a car more then a few times in it's lifetime?

LOL...you heard of the term " it is the indian and not the arrow " right?

Stockers put down over 105mph and some as high as 109 depending on D.A. and Prep... Not sure if you have ever been to the strip to see what it traps.

That is the lastest pics... not great shots.
