  • from #83 to #80...***

do i use both with polishing pads or do i follow up with #80 with a finishing pad? I'm planning on going from #83 to #80 and was wondering if i use the same ( two of the same ) pads or do i have to use a lesser aggresive pad like a finishing pad to follow up the #83 with a polishing pad.

    Thanks 4 your help everybody.

You'll want to use a W8006 Polishing pad for both products.
Keep in mind that you'll have a dedicated pad to use #83 and then a new clean pad for #80. You don't want to use the same pad for both products.

      What are you working on?

Remember, do a Test Spot before going over the entire car.

        Hey,

It depends on the scratch sensitivity of the paint. If it marks easily, then following the M83/W-8006 combo, you could use the M80 with the W-9006 Finishing Pad. Most of the time, if I come across a real difficult paint, I will follow the M83/W-8006 and the M80/W-8006 with M82 and a W-9006 pad. If that still leaves marring, then a I few other tricks up my sleeve.

In the end, do a test spot and see what works for that spot as that should then work for the entire car.

Mike and Tim both mention doing a test spot - along that line I'd like to see you do that test spot with M80 first. You say you plan on using M83 and following with M80 but do you already know that M80 won't get the job done on its own? If a test spot shows M80 will in fact achieve the desired results then there's no reason to waste your time doing the whole car with M83 first.

with M-I-O, 80 usually can get the job done sometimes a second pass is needed in stubborn areas.
