  • Which should I use?

Hi everyone...yes I'm a noob to the forum.

I have a freshly painted(about 2 weeks ago) 86 Camaro Z28 that is going in a big car show next week (Mar 14th). The clear coat was cut by wetsanding with 1500 grit, then 3M PerfectIII compound. Now I would like to polish it when I get the car to the show. So my question is; What's the difference between #3 Machine Glaze, and #7 Show Car glaze? Which one should I use?

BTW, I know I have to wait a couple months for wax, and the car was painted by myself.

Here's a picture of the car as of a couple days ago; http://www.rbvracing.com/images/Mar08/Z28Ext_1280.jpg

    Thanks.
    Ray

    Hey Krazee,

Since this is your first post, Welcome to MOL!

Can you post some pictures of your car that you can post here?

      Paint job sure looks shiny!

The #3 is formulated so that it will perform well under heat as it is a machine applied pure polish very similar to the #7 except for the modification for use with a rotary buffer.

Most people in your shoes would use the #7 Show Car Glaze.

Remember to apply a very thin coat and work it in gently to this brand new paint job and then wipe it off using a clean, soft premium microfiber polishing cloth.

After you've polished out the entire finish, take a new, clean soft microfiber and give it a final, gentle wipe.

You should be show ready after this.

Down the road try our NXT Tech Wax 2.0 and our Ultimate Quik Detailer for maintaining that deep, wet shine.

Hi Andy - I'm not understanding the question. I did put a link to a picture of the car in my first post. I just don't like putting pictures straight into the thread in case some are on dial-up internet. But I can if those are the rules.

Thanks Mike. I'll try the #7.

Now, I was using the Gold Class liquid last year before I paint the car, and still have half a bottle. Does the NXT stack up better than the Gold Class?

If I do keep using the Gold Class (until the bottle is done anyhow), can I use #135 or UQD over the Gold Class?

They're both great waxes, it's probably one of those things where you'll have to try it yourself to see if you like one better than another.
Late last year after cleaning and polishing the paint we chose NXT Tech Wax to showcase this daily driver.

Those are not the rules, just the norm. You do not have to if you do not wish. When I clicked on your link earlier from home it didn't work. I am at work now and the link worked. Who knows! Vey nice paint job you have on your camaro.

Thanks fellas. I'll post more pics when I have better ones, in a nicer setting. I just took that one on the day I was done putting it back together.
