  • Winter Preparation

I live in an area that has a lot of snow, sleet, and freezing rain. Which causes my 2000 Explorer to just look like **** all winter. Do any of you do anything special or use anything different right before winter?

I now spend my winters in Naples.

I used to put a couple coats of #16 on the cars in the latter part of October. I'd do a mini-detail (MPPC, #16) in January. Then I'd do a major detail in April (MPPC, polish as needed, and #16).

Now I use NXT Tech Wax (x2) and for winter I'd top it with #16.

I also have a dedicated set of winter tires mounted on OEM take-off rims. Keeps my factory rims from getting chipped and out of the corrosive salt.

      Hey,

One thing I know, is winter!!!

I always prep my personal vehicles for winter with #20 Polymer Sealant topped with #26. However, last year I had the chance to test the NXT Tech Wax through a brutal winter and it worked out excellent.

So this year, I will try NXT x2 !

While we are on the topic of winter....

I just started doing some detailing for people around my area...My question is how much detaling can really be done during the winter? Unfortunately I don't have a garage to work with. I'm trying to figure out what I can do for customers in the winter.
