  • Question on Solo system

I've been reading some of the info about the Solo system. It says that due to the new backing plate, you should be able to obtain a swirl free finish using the solo system on a rotary buffer.

Those who have used the Solo system, do you find you can use just the Solo system with the rotary to get a swirl free finish or do you need to follow up with the DA?

I know the literature says the Solo system is for new paint, but I suspect many are using this for fixing defects on existing paint. I'd like to know your findings and experience.

    Re: Question on Solo system

i know that they say it is designed for new paint, but i have been using it since it came out and i love it! i do find that i must work it longer and at the higher end of the rpm recomendation ,but it does leave a swirl free finish . now i do follow it with 80 on the da on any darker cars, i think this is just for my own benifit, because it does do wha they say!
now you will have to be easy with the cleaning of the pads with the brush ,as the diamond patter seems to "catch" the brush and chunk off.
    good luck!
