  • #00 High-Tech Wash

I tried doing a search to find some insight into this product, but I could not find much.

I picked up a bottle today at a local PBE, because I had read how it has a very high lubricity factor and is also very gentle on wax/sealants. This interested me because I own a black car, and along with the use of my Grit Guards and two buckets, I am looking for way to always use the least invasive method of washing.

What is the general consensus here on #00? It seems like somewhat of a sleeper product, but I am sure that I will be pleased when I use it for the first time this weekend. Meguiar's has yet to let me down with any product that they offer!

Good product, very low foaming though. Which isnt a big deal, but just dont be surprised.

It is often used as a lubricant when sanding, so it is certainly high up there for lubricity.

Foaming isn't a big factor for me, as I usually fill the bucket first with water, and then add the wash solution and mix it with my hand.

I look forward to the lubricity factor the most. I've finally polished those nagging spiderweb swirls out of my car with #83 and the G100, and I hope to keep it that way with proper washing technique and the use of superior products.

If you are looking for lubricity, #00 is your car wash! You will definitely like it! Soap suds are overrated.

I've found the that the two bucket wash method has much more to do with protecting my swirl-free paint than which car wash soap I use.

Given the choice, I'd rather two bucket (with grit guards) wash with the cheapest car wash from WalMart than one bucket wash with fancy, high lube #00. Normally, I two bucket wash with Nxt.

Look at it this way: If you're interested in a wash's lubricity, you are concerned about rubbing dirt particles into your paint. Whatever benefits extra lubricity may have in preventing scratches are microscopic compared to removing the dirt from the wash mitt.

The two bucket method gets rid of an amazing amount of dirt from the wash mitt before you lay it back on the paint surface.

Glad to hear this, I am thinking of writing a full review after a wash or two since one has not been done yet.

I agree. I had results similar to those of Mike Phillips when he demonstrated the ability of the Grit Guard in the Show Car Garage video. It's amazing how much dirt, grit, and grime it really traps! Never again will I wash any black car that I own without it!

Used to use 00 now use shampoo plus find it to be better

One thing I have noticed is that we should be sure to follow the recommended dilution ratios as using too much will leave a slickness behind which could cause problems when it comes to applying other products
