  • Best way to apply 83? and best wax for dark cars?

i bought a gallon of #83 after hearing great stuff about it from my buddy. But after reading here, there seem to be mixed reviews about it. I have light swirls on my car, and a few hard water marks my paint is in otherwise great cond. I will be using a PC with #83, what would be the best way to apply this?

I am also in search of a good wax for dark colored cars, any ideas here?

Also wondering if you guys have tried "the final inspection" reviews on it would be great! thanks

      # 83 is probably my favorite Meguiar's product. It can take some playing around with it to get used to it though.
Most of the time, I find that I need to work it into the paint anywhere between 1.5 - 4 minutes covering a 2x2ft section.
There are a lot of good articles about # 83 if you do a search.

        to MOL Hotstartup!

Here's a thread where one of our comrades describes how he came to terms with #83: I had an epiphany! DACP thread

Any Meguiar's wax will work well on dark cars. Some favorites include Gold Class, NXT, #21 and #26.

I love #34 Final Inspection. Nothing complicated, it's a straightforward QD. It just works great.

ty for the welcome! i actually did search up quiet a bit, but didnt find exactly what i was looking for. I want to know what pad to use with the 83, and what speed to set the PC at? I saw one thread saying to put the PC at 3 speed to apply, then rub at 5 for a few mins, and finish off with 6. But it was not all the clear.

you are supposed to use #83 with a W8006 pad and speed 5

Meguiar's does not reccomend using any speed over 5 because it can cause the pads/ backing plate to come apart.
