  • All Season Dressing and sprayers... questions inside!

I recently made my first purchase ever of Meguiar's professional line products. Hyper Dressing, All Season Dressing and Last Touch spray detailer. I also bought spray bottles for each and chemical-resistant sprayers for each.

I love the Last Touch and haven't had a chance to try the Hyper Dressing just yet. I plan on dilluting that to 4:1 and using it for interior trim, under the hood and in the wheel wells on the plastic splash guards.

My questions revolve around the All Season Dressing and the chemical-resistant sprayer:

It seems that this sprayer isn't ideal for applying All Season Dressing to tires. The spray pattern is far too wide which results in getting overspray on the wheels. It also puts out too much volume of product, which results in runs of product streaking down the tires.

Is there a different sprayer that I should be using to apply a finer mist?

I really prefer not to have to wipe the product onto the tires as on one of our vehicles (a truck) we have white letter tires and wiping product on generally dirties the letters.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give. I've already learned a lot just by lurking and reading.

Hello, and let me first say to MOL!!

I love to use the high-volume sprayer with All Season Dressing, esp. when applying it to my truck's tires. I always use an Even-Coat applicator to spread the product around after first applying, and then a second time about 10 minutes later to ensure even coverage.

However, this might make it a little difficult to dodge the white letters. All that I can recommend would be to spray the dressing between each set of letters, wipe on this space, and then carefully apply around the letters (and in between if space allows).

I know this will take a little more time, but the results will be worth it IMO.

      Hi Tungsten -

Go to any drugstore / Wallmart and get a few small spray bottles that hold 4 to no more than 8 ounces. These will give you the spray you need and you won't have to carry a 32 ounce bottle all the time.

These will run from fifty cents to a buck each and are ideal to use as they fit in your pocket while going around the car.

Not sure of the pattern? Be a "big spender" and buy just one as a test to see how you like it. My 2 cents says you'll go back for lots more.

      Have fun.

Tungsten, I have the same issues with All Seson Drssing bottle/sprayer. I ordered mine from ADS and the sprayer, like you said, puts out way to wide of a pattern and to much product. What I've had to do is poor a little in a small plastic container, not too much product as you can always add a little more. I then use a small paint brush to get in around the letters and a wider one for the larger area on the tires. It really doesn't take very long to do it this way. It is not a spray and walk away procedure but it will look great when you are done. You can let it dry a little afterwards, then wipe of with a Meguiars Ultra MF towel, then reapply for the best results or just do the one time application.

Thanks for the welcome and recommendations. I found an unused spray bottle that had come with a Simple Green kit and will give that a shot. It's got a fairly fine mist pattern and also has a setting for "foam" which, although I won't use it for this, could conceivably come in handy for detailing other trim pieces.

that's exactly what i do, and the small spray bottles (they have one the size of a tennis ball) works perfect! you can find them in the aisle where the dollar items are, right near the toothpaste/shampoo, etc...
