  • questions on 83 84 & 85

im having trouble figuring out how to use these. In some cases i see people using these products at 1750+rpms but i cant seem to find myself using the rotory past 1500rpms. Do these products need to be used at these high speeds in order to get optimal results. I used 85 with a wool pad an black vette which cut the webbs very well. Then i went to 84 and a maroon pad but that seemed to scour the finish is it supposed to do that. Last but not least i dont know how people are using 83 to remove buffer swirls cause it just aint happening for me. Im working in about a 6x6 section on a cool surface but if theres swirls it seems like 83 is doing well but its lacking a little bit of bite. Am i supposed to work this til almost gone at 1400rpms or just do these fast spurts of buffing at 1750. Cause at 1750 the products seems to dry up too fast. Where as when im working them in at 14 or 1500 they work for a couple of minutes or so.

Any suggestions. Im really looking for a general answer so i can figure out how to adjust my skills from there. Whether it be to up the speed or try out different pads.

    Thanks

The maroon pad is a cutting pad

    Try a 8006 polishing pad

alot of people do a second pass with 83 w/ 8006 pad and a d/a polisher to remove holograms or swirls

you can also do a pass with #80 w/8006 pad but always make your last polishing pass with a d/a polisher

also your working to large an area
    try 2X2
