Re: NEW Product - Meguiar's D166 Ultra Polishing Wax
Hey guys,
last week I had a one on one training with Mike Stoops in Irvine and we played with D166. The product is incredible! Fast cut, incredible finish, great protection and impressive water beading! We had a rental car, black Nissan Versa, with quite touch sensitive paint. Using DA Microfiber Correction System, that I love, on a DA polisher created lots of haze, so we gave D166 a try.
Below you can find our video introducing some of 2018 new products and showing and describing results with D166.

The silver one demands nothing and it looks just fine. I think the black vehicle is taking advantage of me, and the silver car is more my style. We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Re: NEW Product - Meguiar's D166 Ultra Polishing Wax
Was sent over a bottle to review from the folks at Autogeek last year and finally got to use it.
Really nice AIO to work with. Easy wipe off considering I left the wax on the painted surface until the car was done. It corrects very well and seems versatile with every pad combination I tested it with.
Took out these defects with a microfiber cutting pad on this hard corvette paint.
Finished the paint using the microfiber finishing pads which gave good cut and good gloss.

This looks interesting! I skimmed through this thread but may have missed it... Would this be better than the Black Wax on my dark gray car?
Comparing to Black Wax, D166 Ultra Polishing Wax will have much more defect removal ability, and be more durable. This does not make it "better" than Black Wax, it is just different. If you do not need the defect removal ability of D166 Ultra Polishing Wax then another product would be a better choice.
Hope this helps.

Okay, thanks Nick. The paint is in really good shape in my opinion. There aren't a lot of scratches or swirls in it. I really like the black wax so maybe I should stick with that or is there another product with the durability of this new D166? Thanks!

Here's another video of the coolest AIO that I've ever used - D166! 2016 Volkswagen Passat Variant, R-Line with black metallic paint, owned by my friend, an actor and singer, and a true car guy, here in Prague. He fell in love with Meguiar's after seeing the results!

Hi SLM,
If you are trying to work towards getting the best results & don't mind putting a little more time into your process, you might consider moving towards a wax which is not a "cleaner/wax."
Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax & Ultimate Paste Wax would be great examples of products which have full synthetic durability, and great gloss. If you would like to address any light swirls prior to applying a coat of wax, using a dedicated cleaner/polish like our Ultimate Polish would be an option. Any time you use "dedicated" products you typically are going to get better results compared to using a AIO or Cleaner Wax.

Thanks Nick. When I bought the black wax I honestly didn't know it was an AIO product. I just saw it in the shelf and thought... Black wax should be good on a dark gray car, LOL!
I've learned more about car / paint care here in the last several months than I ever really thought possible. Thanks!

I bought this product to add to my arsenal a few months back and have yet to try it out. 2 weeks ago I bought a black car to see if I can keep it looking good. Any tips or tricks to using this product? Pad choice? Machine? Speed? I want to start paint correcting ASAP, just haven
