Just when I was getting used to NXT Tech Wax 2.0 as being "my wax", Meguiar's comes out with this new Ultimate Wax.
LOL > > > just wait, in another year or so you'll be saying the same thing about your stock of "Ultimate Wax"
I predict a product name such as > Super Duper Ultimate Wax -2
For my 20+ year old paint, how about: an M7 undercoat left to sit overnight, buffed, and then Ultimate Wax topped with M26 [in the summer], or NXT/M21 [in the winter?]
Success is never final, failure is never fatal. It's courage that counts.

I have only done it a handful of times and that was because I had extra time on my hands or It was for a really good client who got a little something extra for free.

What?! Well, its a choice. Sometimes i put a "topper", sometimes i don't. Some add it to change the optical appearance of the paint. Some add a layer of carnauba over sealant because sealant look doesn't usually have the depth and wet look of carnauba, or to add extra protection without affecting the layer beneath the topper.. its like trying to get the best of both worlds.. carnauba+synth sealnt protection.
the results do seem noticeable to me, protection is a bit better with the topper. With this new meguiars ultimate wax, no topper for me. hehe.. meguiars ultimate topper? i don't think so.. hehe
I've learned alot about all this detailing thing this 2010, and ultimately prepping is absolutely important. i'll focus next on the applying polish first before waxing.. I currently have meguiars swirl x, and i really like it. Next up, DC2 polish
