The car is kept indoors and was under a cover (a Megs customer care rep said it should be fine after I called to check) and I could still see the surface smear like I had just applied it. Did the cover hinder the curing process? Temps over the past week ran from the mid 50s to upper 60s this past week with humidity being reasonable with exception to a front passing through that dropped temps and provided a dusting of snow on Thursday but over the weekend warm and dry which should have been more than enough to cure properly. Anyone?
If the wax was applied unevenly to a dark car you may not see the unevenness go away completely, even after a week. It can only self level so much, and it can do a great job of darkening darker colors. Have you tried going over it with a bit of QD or even a very small amount of plain water on a microfiber towel? While still curing this can quickly and effectively even out the polymers and make the finish uniform in appearance once again.

The wax was applied with a d/a and a Megs 4" finishing pad so it was a super thin coat. At first glance it was a clear and even finish but when I used a mf to wipe off my own fingerprints from the surface I saw the surface smear like I had just did the initial wipedown after application. I will give the water tip a try but after a weeks time I still wonder what kept it from curing in the first place.

It's very doubtful that what you're seeing is because the product didn't cure, rather just that the application wasn't as uniform as it might have been and/or the polymers weren't "leveled", so to speak, with a quick wipe down after that uneven application. As stated earlier, the product can and will noticeably darken some darker paints, and if allowed to cure after an uneven application that inconsistent darkening may linger.

I have the paste version arriving soon.

For those who've had streaking issues can I ask if you use the liquid or paste version Ultimate Wax?

                what color is your car?

I only ask this because I'd like to try the liquid, but already bought the paste and find it a bit streaky.

Mr. Stoops, can you verify that the wowo method of the liquid is less prone to streaking than the paste?

Customer Care recommended I try the paste version due to my problems with the liquid(had similar issues with 2.0, maybe the polymers don't like my black paint).

How is everyone prepping their black paint prior to applying either NXT or UW?

How old is the vehicle as well?

Here is a write up I did on UW. (my take on UWP) I apologize for not having supporting pics at the moment.

that may be why you don't see streaking.
