I tried out the new Ultimate Wax on my Orange Avalanche. I too was disappointed with the streaks. I did apply the wax with a DA (liquid). I found that a quick wipe down with Final Inspection took all the streaks out. With this product, a little goes a very long way. I think this is the key. Very little is needed, hence the "buttery" description. Not the feel im a custom to when im waxing

I will stick with NXT 2.0 followed up with Gold Class w/nuba in the future. Im just to anal about what goes on my vehicles to have a LSP smear. I do think this product will appeal to your average consumer who grabs it since it says "ultimate", nothings better in their mind. I do plan on giving the product one more chance on my 67. I have some good lighting in my garage so I will try to post some pics.

Im sure this has been asked over and over but here I go, will this product be replacing NXT 2.0?

Sorry to hear you were less than thrilled with the product, but equally happy that you're willing to give it another go. Next time out, give it a good long dry time before wipe off, that can help a bit too.

And, no, it is not replacing NXT 2.0.

I can tell you all from first hand experience this past weekend that the paste version, applied via D/A with a 4" pad, is absolutely fantastic. Did it on both my wife's '08 Victory Red (non metallic) Cobalt and my '05 Crossfire and the results surprised even me.

For those getting streaks: are you polishing first?

Also - how long are you letting it dry before removal?

I gave it a 25min dry time on a 74 degree day. No polish prior, just a wash. I did 105/205 a few months back so no correction was needed.

Mike, do you prefer the paste over the liquid? What did you like best about your results?

I would have given it a bit longer to cure.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Thats what its sounding like. Im thinking of going 55mins when I wax my mustang to play it safe.

This ones for Mike, Since the formula is more buttery, will dry times vary?

                          Thanks

I just saw this wax and I was really impressed with the packaging. It looks and feels like a high quality product. Not to mention it comes with a foam applicator pad and a MF towel. I didn't buy it yet because I already have a lot of waxes and sealants but I know one day, this wax will get the best of me.

If you're using the liquid version of the new Ultimate Wax and are seeing some streaking or unevenness, we'd like you try applying it to a panel at a time and wiping off after letting it sit for just a minute or two. We're seeing no streaking at all doing it this way, and still experiencing very long lasting protection.

From personal experience on my wife's car the liquid version held up beautifully to the torrential rains we had here last month. Including a 300 mile round trip drive in a heavy downpour, and many days of heavy rain exposure before and after that, when I finally did wash the car I could barely keep water on the darn thing. Mark and Andy, if you want to edit this because I sound like too much of insider just shilling product, feel free to do so, but I was highly impressed by how this product stood up to all the rain we had recently.

As for the paste version, I applied that to my Crossfire with a 4" pad on my G110v2 and the car has never looked better. Well, OK, I did a quick once over with Ultimate Polish on a finishing pad via G110v2 before applying the wax, but still!
