Re: Wheel Polishing Kit
My Mother's polishing cone has not impressed me because the tip of the cone is too soft. Can you compare this cone, and it's firmness, to the other polishing cones from Mother's (or other brand's).John @ HillCityAutoDetail.com

As for anything more specific on the firmness of the DynaCone versus the Mother's piece you'll have to wait until tomorrow. I've got a Mother's cone at home and can make a direct comparison for you then. I've got an Open Garage session tonight so I won't be back home until late tonight.Michael Stoops

Re: Wheel Polishing Kit
This really is designed for polishing bare metal - the foam on the DynaCone is specially designed for that purpose, not paint, and obviously so is the All Metal Polish included in the kit.
For clear coated wheels you're better off using something like SwirlX by hand, or even ColorX.Michael Stoops

Re: Wheel Polishing Kit
Here's a shot of the DynaCone side by side with the Power Cone. You can't really see it here but the Power Cone is sitting angled up a the tip so it kind of looks longer than the upper portion of the DynaCone but it's really only about 1/4" taller than that section of the DynaCone.
The longer shaft on the DynaCone is also collared so you can hold and support it while the cone is spinning and it doesn't get hot. The extra length allows you to easily reach deeper into the wheels between the spokes.
As to the question about firmness of the DynaCone relative to the Power Cone - the increase in firmness is substantial with the DynaCone and you don't feel the hardware inside it as easily either.

Re: Wheel Polishing Kit
Just looking at that pic, the Megs DynaCone looks like the superior tool.
Thanks for sharing MikeOriginally posted by BluelineI own a silver vehicle and a black vehicle owns me. The black one demands attention, washing, detailing, waxing and an occasional dinner out at a nice restaurant. The silver one demands nothing and it looks just fine. I think the black vehicle is taking advantage of me, and the silver car is more my style. We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.
