Endurance is awesome. I think if it had better packaging/marketing like an NXT or Ultimate product, it would get way more attention.

What is it that you don't like about Ultimate Protectant (UP)?

      Hi Bill -

Totally agree on Edurance..that stuff is just as good as it gets. I'm to the point where I don't even think about tire care anymore...been using that product for years...although, as you mentioned...it doesn't get much attention, so I'm always afraid that one day it's just going to disappear from the shelves! It's not as easy to find as it was years ago. I don't know where it ranks in terms of sales for Meguiars.

As mentioned previously, I found UP to lack durability on my new trim. It reminded me of using that vintage armor all water based spray. I did use it on my moms neglected black trim and it seemed to perform better and last a bit longer. Just not a good product for my use.

UP is performing brilliantly for me so far.

I really liked the look when I first applied it and it was also non-greasy.

After two washes and one rainstorm, my trim still looks dark and feels slick but non-greasy. I think it's still got another few washes/storms left in it yet! Nice product Meguiars!

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Me too..I love the look when first applied...a rich, satin look. That's what I generally shoot for on all my black plastics and such.

I bought Ultimate Protectant last week, tried it on all of my interior panels (dashboard and doors), my splash guard and under the windshield (don't know the name). They looked darker and wet, with shine almost like supreme shine interior detailer.. All application used APC 10:1 for cleaning the interior panels and splash guard..

I tried to washed it once, yes it looked a bit changed but a wipe with a MF works good..

I tried it on my friend's dashboard and yes, she liked it..

I have a sample of UP that came with gold class shampoo, I'm gonna try it sometime this weekend and see how it holds up for the rest of the week. How does it look in interiors for those who have tried it. Is it shiny? greasy? or natural

Much will depend on the texture of your interior dash and trim. For me it left a semi gloss, but not overly so. You could buff with a MF if you need a more satin finish I guess. NO GREASY residue what so ever. That is the beauty of UP is that it dries quickly and leaves no residue. Just long lasting UV protection.

On the interior I find it to be a high gloss but definately not greasy. For those wanting a high gloss...go for it. Others may prefer QID for a more natural look.

How much UV protection does this offer? As much as 303?

My first trial with UP didn't go so well as it didn't last very long and actally washed off in the first rainstorm. So, I put it on the shelf and didn't use it on my next few family details. Well, I traded in the MINI the other day for a Crystal Black (Yeah, I know....) Honda Civic EX and decided to give the MINI a last detail. I pulled out the UP and decided it was time to give it another go. All I have to say is that I am throughly impressed with UP this time. It rejuvenated this trim extraordinarily well.

But, I am not sure why the trim faded so to begin with. I had been using Hot Shine Tire Spray up to this point on the trim every time it needed. The trim looked great before the wash but after it was cleaned with APC at 4:1 the trim simply looked tired and faded. Maybe someone or even a Mike could give me some possible reasons for this observation.

Anyway, on to the pictures!!!!!!!!! I don't think I even have to label before and after.........

While it would seem that the difference between these trim pieces and tires is minor, it is actually quite a bit different than you think. Rubber (tires) and hard, textured vinyl (trim) may both be petroleum derived pieces but they have very different chemical makeups. How they absorb different substances and how they react to them varies as well, which is why we make tire dressings and vinyl dressings that are widely varied as well. And while you can get away with using a product made for one on the other, it's not always the best thing to do. As you've found out here.

Now, if you've got a fairly fresh coat of Hot Shine on this trim and then you apply UP then we wouldn't really expect the UP to properly bond to the vinyl trim and it will wash off fairly easily. But once that trim is fully exposed and UP is allowed to behave as formulated, then some pretty cool things happen. As, once again, you've found out here.

Oh, and congrats on the new car! Nice of you to clean up the Mini so thoroughly for it's new owners, too!

Not sure just how "much" UV protection 303 has (or just how a consumer would measure it) but UP is highly loaded with UV blockers. Don't get us wrong, we know 303 to be an excellent water based product with a very loyal following - and rightfully so. But looking at the polymers in UP, and how they behave, compared to a typical water based dressing and the protection lasts a crazy long time as well.

UP is the ONLY dressing I have every used that last about 2 washings, Ive had it last 3 but started to look dull. It has to have a clean surface to really bond as stated above, but the little extra work is worth it since it last much longer then other dressings I have used.
