When someone gave me a demo on how the Clay Bar works it was cool to know that it was very effective!

Is this clay bar the same as the original one though?

what is the original one? for the consumer market, there's the smooth surface clay kit.

to meguiars... from a customer in the philippines (me)

hi,

the distributor here said they do not carry meguiars replacement clay and the mild clay (blue one).

what they only have is the kit. i still got lots of qd in my closet and all i need is clay.

why doesn't meguiars supply those products (mild clay and smooth surface replacement) to the philippines?

You want to use the G1001 (Smooth Surface Clay) or the C2000 (Professional Mild Clay). The Pro Mild Clay is a little stronger, but still safe.

Using something like the Professinal Aggressive Clay can leave marring/swirls on the paint.

- what's the difference between the products above?
- is the c2000 equivalent of the g1001?

i asked because the only available clay in the distributor here is the c2100.

what is the consequence of using a "more aggresive" clay than the usual one?

Look into the Professional Mild Clay as well.

I will be purchasing Mother's clay kit now. It's $15-16 and now comes with a total of 160 grams (two 80 gram bars) and no longer comes with the cleaner wax that i dont use. Comes with microfiber and lube.

Meg's replacement kit only has 150 grams and costs $20. No microfiber or lube.

I used to buy the Smooth Surface kit because mother's used to only come with 1 bar.

I hope this will cause Meg's to drop the price so it's more competitive.

Nope I went yesterday to almost all Pep Boys in Las Vegas, and NONE of them have it in stock.

I have to admit the entire clay kit is about the same price, you just lose 1 bar, and you get a towel and quick detailer. I like that still!

We don't have a time-line as to when it will be on the retail shelves at Pep Boys, just that they will be stocking this time. So check out Pep Boys and see if they have it on the shelf yet, if not maybe ask the store manager when they expect to have it in.

Also, when you find them to have it on display, maybe update this thread so others will know too...

The Uk will probably have the single 50gram bar edition as well as the rest of Europe. Seriously, there are enough webshops in the Uk that sell the Meg's Prof. Mild clay for around the 20pounds so do yourself and your wallet a favour en order the Pro Mild Clay, the 50gram will be around 12 pound maybe? The pro clay is 200 gram and I use it all the time.
