Re: Degreaser stained paint
You could try working a cleanr/wax like Colorx over the surface. It has very light abrasives and chemical cleaners. Maybe the chemical cleaners will help remove the stain.Tedrow's Detailing

Re: Degreaser stained paint
i got simple green over spray on my fenders on my old car before...nothing seemed to really work.. it burned into the clear pretty good.. you may be out of luck.. it is always recommended you spray down your car so any type of chemical gets washed away on your wet surface..

Re: Degreaser stained paint
i just noticed my fender has stain spots that look like water stains all over the left and right fender.. nowhere else on the car. i am almost positive it is from when i cleaned my engine bay.. i sprayed the engine down ith simple green... the weird thing is that i made sure i sprayed my fenderes wet so the overspray wouldnt sit directly on the paint.. also i didnt let the simple green stay on for that long... hmmm.. anyways.. i went at it with both scratch x and Uc and they seem to work.. BUT it takes mad elbow grease.. i am leaving it for now.. i don't have a da so i have to do it by hand... you can only see it under certain angles so i am not too concerned at this point... when i feel like getting a good forearm workout ill go at it a few inches at a time... :P

i didnt dilute it.. it was the max strength one too lol... i sprayed down the fenders and the whole car with water but not soapy water.. in the future i am going to mask and bag the fenders

Re: Degreaser stained paint
A great way to mask off fenders and the front end of a car before spraying any cleaner/degreaser in the engine bay is to split open some large plastic garbage bags and use masking tape to anchor them to the inside edge of the fender with the hood open. Mask all around the engine bay like this, even securing the bottom of the plastic to the side of the car with a bit of masking tape - even a gentle breeze will blow that thin plastic around. 3 or 4 large garbage bags is all it takes to mask off everything.Michael Stoops
