Also I know Dave from Inovative Detailing goes to Havasu every month so maybe he would be a good contact.

So the swirls that were int he pic. Do you think #44 and polish pad would remove the defects. I have more of a swirl and marring issue. The red foam pad rotary is the most aggressive I went with #44. I never used any compound or anything else tougher. Thank you!

M205 is a good polish and, to me, has an oily feel to it, so it might be a good choice considering your boat is maitained and a light polish with M205 could do the job fine.

That boat looked pretty deep and glossy and it was a complete gel coat! It is cool you got to meet Barry Meguiar, thats awesome!

I would use #85 on a wool pad, and follow that with the #205 on a polishing pad for some extra pop #3 machine glaze (polishing pad) works extremely well on gelcoat. You should have no marring, All of this can easily and quickly be accomplished using the rotary.....Simply protect with your choice of wax/sealant. I like using #20 or #21 (polishing or finishing pad) both last a good bit and are very easy to use, the edge goes to #20 for ease though #21 slightly more durable.

I will try DA 5 speed yellow polishing and #44 color restorer and then to M45 polish before I hand wax with flagship. What new products do you recommend I purchase to do the job?
                Jeff
Most boats are laid up with fiberglass and gelcoat. Gelcoat is much harder than clearcoat on a car. Eliminator told you they shot a coat of clear over the colored portion of your boat. Did they shoot clear gelcoat or car clearcoat ?
This would make a big difference in how you correct the swirls.
If its gelcoat, you should be using Megs Marine polish products,If its clearcoat you should use Megs Auto products. Some auto products can be used on gelcoat but you never want to use boat polishes on a car clearcoat.
First ,find out what you have, gelcoat or clearcoat
Just like a car do a 2x2 test area starting with the least aggressive and moving up to tha more aggressive combo until you get the desired results before moving on.
On a recent boat detail I was using Megs #67 boat compound with a Megs marroon cut pad on a G110 to remove swirls from a black hull. I followed it up with a lighter #49 boat polish then a coat of Fleetwax with good results on gelcoat.
I tried a rotary with a wool cut pad but got a better finish with the G110 and a foam cut pad.
Good luck and happy boating ! Eliminators are cool boats !

                Thanks, Hemi
