I have a 30' boat that I have been maintaining with Flagship for several years with great results. Typically I do one coat using regular FS and a Rotary/Wool Pad then apply a second coat by hand and remove with a Buffer and MF pad. I use a mist sprayer to keep the wax from drying out and leaving swirls when using the rotary and that seems to work well. Recently I have stepped back to using my 7424 where possible and a meduim foam white Lake Country pad. That seems to work well too and still use the rotary for tough spots. I am in a covered slip and repeat this process every 6 months so I dont have any real bad problems with oxidation. I am however starting to loose the "pop" in the gelcoat shine I once had. I suspect it is minor oxidation emerging so I am thinking about changing up my process. I have a few questions for the experts.First, will Meguiars #44 Color Restorer be a good choice to use before meguiars FS Wax to bring back the depth of the color? Or, can I just use FS Cleaner/Wax first then follow with FS Wax and get the same result? Is the cutting/cleaning ability equal in #44 and FS Cleaner Wax? I would like to eliminate steps if possible. So if I can get the same results as I would with #44 from FSCW I can combine Step 1 to also include the first coat of wax. Also, I have a black hull. I do have some color coming off on my polishing pads. Is this normal? never noticed it on the white but then again, I probably would not be able to tell since the wax is white. Is there any need to strip off old wax before applying new coats with the Flagship? Or just put new right on top of old?THANKS FOR THE HELP!
