  • I want the max shine with the best protection

I want to do the very best job of repairing the oxidized finish on my white gel coat boats as possible.

I don't mind extra steps, my boats are't that big...16 ft and 20ft

How 'bout I try #45 polish first, to put some oils back into the resin finish?

then I thought I would use #67 next.

Then another coat of #45 to bring it out more.

    Then finish with flagship #63

    How does this sound?

Depending on how old the boats are and how bad the oxidation is, this sounds like a great process. You might be able to get away with M49 rather than the M67 if the oxidation isn't horrible, but if the boats are a decade or more old and/or the oxidation is pretty bad, then stick with the M67. But using some M45 first is a very good idea.

Any pictures of the current state of the gel coat on these boats?

First, thank you for your reply.

Yes, I can pics of of boat Sunday, when it comes out of storage, before I start the process.

I plan to start with a test area.

The topsides of the boat, of course, are the worst. The sides and bottom are OK.

      Couple of other questions:

Do any of the Meguiar's Marine Products contain PTEF or ****** type ingredients?

I am going to buy a variable speed polisher. Can I use it for each step except the last Flagship Wax #63?

      thanks

You can use a buffer, either D/A or rotary, for all of the steps, although a D/A is a actually a better fit for both the M45 polish and the M63 wax.

And none of our products contain the ingredients you mentioned. Never have, never will.

On oxidized gelcoat, I usually start with #44, them move up to M49 if necessary. I then finish using M50 Cleaner Wax in either paste or liquid form, all with a first gen G110.
