Gelcoats are harder than automotive paints, so while the ideas are the same, not all of the products/techniques carry over.

It could be there's another reason why your finish is cloudy?
Can you share,
- What are you working on?
- What is the original problem with the paint?
- What type of pad did you use?
- What products are you using?
- What speed setting did you use?
- How big of an area did you buff at one time?
