  • RV headliner

I need to clean a headliner in a 40 foot RV . It has some water stains & black dust marks around the AC vents. I have a steamer & extractor but i don't want to release the glue that is holding the headliner. Any info would be great. Thanks Jim

The best would be to spray a little cleaner on a MF cloth and dab around.

APC or the Quick Out would seem like the best options.

You don't want to get it too wet just because of the adhesive.

Be careful and very gentle when cleaning it and don't spray directly to the headliner, spray into a towel.

I would agree, APC or Quick Out would work.

There's is no easy or risk-free way of cleaning cloth headliners for the reason you mentioned and also because if you push on it you can stretch it and cause it to sag and also loosen.

The cleaning part is also more complicated for these reasons as it's easy to spray a cleaner on the headliner but getting it off requires touching it and that's where the stretching and loosening comes back into play.

I don't have any experience cleaning RV Headliners only car headliners and that's not easy either for all the reasons listed above.

Maybe someone with some actual experience and wisdom gained from experience can chime in and provide some tips and technques...

Maybe you can find a detailer or a detail shop that has expertise in this area that's also insured and let them deal with the project and the risk.

It looks like it is a carpet not a cloth. Very short pile also. Thanks Jim
