  • help needed with this one.....

    hi,guys,

for a project that was offered to me,i need some information, because i don't have any experience with boats whatsoever,so i'm a bit in the dark here, and looking for some help.

this job is a speedboat,i think made of polyester, you guys call it fiberglass, and this boat is about 9 years old,and haven't seen a drop of water in his whole life.
it is used as a dj booth in a beachclub.i detailed the owners car,and now he came up with this job,and he is a very nice guy,so i want to do this for him.
i think the most of the dirt, mainly tabacco smoke stains, can be removed using extra all surface cleaner, but i also want to put a layer of wax protection on it,so it will be okay for a while.
    i don't have the marine products,but i have the complete consumer line,and dacp #83,
there must be something i can use for this job?
please help me out on this one, thanks in advance

    Rick

Without knowing for sure, the boat should have a fiberglass shell with a paint coating (possiblely a single-stage paint). That being said, treat it as you would a car with a ss paint job.

Instead of the APC, use clay & other normal paint cleaners to remove the smoke residue on the painted surfaces.

Another thought...it the boat is inside, & you decide to wash it first, fill a spray bottle with a water/car was soap mix, then use it as a spray & wipe cleaner before polishing.

How about an update on that speedboat project?
