  • Abrasive scale for the marine line

I have read the marine threads and have not found an abrasiveness scale like we have for the auto products. Can someone tell me how 67/49/44/50/45/63 rank? Also, if the more aggressive compounds are used first do we then need to use a milder abrasive before polish and/or wax to avoid swirl marks? Lastly, any tips on rotary vs orbital and pads?

    Thanks,

    George

Re: Abrasive scale for the marine line

We can type up an article that addresses all your questions... just not now as behind the scenes we are generating other content.

If you don't have one already, then call Customer Care at

    800-347-5700

and ask for our new Marine Catalog as it will talk about how aggressive or NON-aggressive certain products are.

As for your other question, "Yes", after you use an aggressive product to remove serious defects or oxidation, you usually have to follow this step with a less aggressive product to remove any final remaining defects and then you have to seal the surface with a wax or paint protectant.
