Mildew is what happens! The place where I store my boat did not put #57 on my vinyl upholstery at the end of last season as I requested. I usually do it myself but was very busy at the time and did not get it done. When I picked up the boat two weeks ago, there were several spots of severe mildew that they said could not be removed by cleaning. They probably tried something like Simple Green then gave up.
They refunded the cleaning charges so that helps compensate for the poor cleaning job. But the lesson here is to put #57 on the interior before storage and there will be almost no mildew in the spring. This year I will make time to do it no matter what. I won't rely on someone else.
Now I have to get the mildew off. IMHO it will probably require a bleach type product like that made by Star Brite or Boat Armor. Tim recommended something last summer, I think it was Force9 (?). Did I get the name right, and where can I find it? Also, is it a bleach type product? BTW the interior is white so bleach won't ruin anything.
I dread this project and am procrastinating, but I know I need to do it soon in the next few weeks.
