Tomcat, don't ''wait'' for a clinic from the profesional line, I think this really could take a while. Just read through the MOL topics about the G-100 and start practicing!
This is the way I started using a PC, and it really worked out well

Its going a little bit offtopic, but is the meguiars dual action polisher available in the netherlands? I`m dealing with meguiars products in germany, but I can not buy this (and for sure much more other products) at meguiars germany...

Got a reply today: I can send back the cable free machine and get a full refund. Great service in germany also...

@Erik: I have the same opinion. I dont think europe is ready for real "detailing classes" like in the USA. People still have to realize that really finde products cost much more than the normal ones. If the get infected by the "enthusiast" the people will be ready for a detailing class! ;-) So until then I will try by myself.... (Am actually booked a 3 weeks trip to florida in 2006, maybe there is a class open for me? *g*)

@ Tuningfreak: THat is great service meguiar's is offering you!!
In the Netherlands the G-100 is available, but the price is not very interesting... we pay around 400 € for this machine. Therefor you do get the lifetime guarantee. It is a little bit over my budget.

I am now polishing with a Dewalt 443, It works simular as the G-100, only this machine makes quite a lot noise...... I have made some good results with it and am very pleased to have one.
The profesional line of meguiar's is now starting to get available better and better, we can already order quite a lot pro-line products from our webshop. Great news!
Check the detailclasses on the forum maybe there is something available for you

Where in Germany do you live? I live an 1.5 hour from the German boarder at Arnheim..

Hey Erik, Thanks for the reply, maybe your right and i better start
to practice myself there's a lot of info on this or the dutch board
about that subject that you can read and learn about it.

I have already, like you would probebly know by now a Bosch excentrical machine and wat i need are the right buffs to get started with.

@Tuningfreak, i always thought that there were more different
kind of buffing machines available in Germany then there were
            in the Netherlands?

I think it would be great to visit a clinic in the U.S.
And i think you will looking forward to 2006

Your absolutely wright, just get started with polishing your car!
Buy some pads and some pro-line meguiar's products. They are maybe a bit expensive to buy, but these are also very durable!

In the future there will defenitely come some meguiar's classes in the Netherlands... but I doubt that this will be in the near future (read within one year)

Ok thanks for your support, that's just what i'am going to do
i think that the Meguiar's buffs will do the job? and start
with the least aggressive set of products and start with
for example the rear bumper ( the lower side ) and just
                see how it's goes

At this time I´m starting to inform me about the different kind of buffers, but I dont understand every explanation on the megs forum here. The german forum is not really well, too less users and for sure a regular reply-time of 5-7 days of the meguiars people - this is TOO LONG!!! I`m starting right now a bigger business of car detailing parts for the "non-professional" user (regular my business are tuning parts) with a good customer care etc. My actual customers are really satisfied with my service, so this job will start well. On the other side I`m going to improve my ability in (semi-)professional car detailing, so I need a good buffer to make cars look "news" without swirls, fine scratches, holograms etc... But like I said: I dont understand everything and all differences between the machines because there is not a german spoken forum here where I can find this amount of information like here...

Yes, I hope to visit a class in 2006 in my holiday in the states - not talked with my girl already *lol*, maybe she is not happy if I do this in O U R holiday!

Your plans sounds good to me, it's pretty much the same for me
i think that the Meg's buff pads will do the job!! maybe you need
                    something like this:

                    Meguiar's buff pads]

                    ( is working now )

I believe that the cutting pad is great for little scratches and
swirls. Than the next step would be the polishing pad and
finaly the finishing pad?? I am not shure what products to
use with those pads?? and the have to be available in Europe!!

Maybe i would start with Scratchx on a cuttingpad
Than step 2 dc polish on a polischingpad.
And at the end step3 dc Carnaubawax.

I know that there are products available of the Pro-line already
but i think the are pretty expensive, at least to me they are
( for an example Speedglaze will cost me about $40,- )

So at first i'd like to try to use those things i got already
If it's not working i still can get products from the Pro-line
like swirlremover and Speedglaze etc. We'll see at the time.

If your get the PC G-100, (Meguiars Buffer), you do not want to use the 7006 cutting pad. The cutting pad is meant for use with rotarys, etc.

For the G-100 with the Pro-Line Products, you would do this:

                      1. Wash
                      2. Clay
                      3. #80 (Mild) or #83 (Medium) With 8006-Polishing Pad
                      4. Pure Polish (Optional) with 9006-Finishing Pad
                      5. Wax with 9006 Finishing Pad.

                      With more consumer like products,

                      1. Wash
                      2. Clay
                      3. DC#1, ScratchX, ColorX with 8006-Polishing Pad
                      4. Pure Polish with 9006 -Finishing Pad
                      5. Wax with 9006 Finishing Pad

                      Hope that helps a little.

It shure did thank you for your reply, paticular your advice on
using the consumer products and now i know also that the cutting pad
is no good on a DA machine like a excentrical ( orbital ) ?? sanding
like machine!!! Learning every day about getting started with
DA polishing, but i will take small steps at the time cause i got
no experience on this at all.

I should mention that depending on how you want to remove the products, you do have choices:

                          1. Remove by hand with Supreme Shine, or Plush Terry, etc..

                          2. Using 7006-Cutting pad as backing for an Ultimate Bonnet, and remove with DA. ONLY use the 7006 pad as backing for the Bonnet, NOT for anything on your paint.

                            Ok i did't realise that you can use a ( cutting ) pad as a backing-plate
bud it seems logic now to use it in combination whith a bonnet.

I think that's a great tip for me, although i love to use the
Supreme Shine cloth, it's just great to work with it.

I am trying to get some Meg's things to Holland, if you like
you read all about it on this topic:

                            Dealers in Oregon City

I also will put the Ultimate bonnets on my wish-list as well

                            Thanks for replying
