  • Megs UK micro detailing day

I had a couple of the guys from the UK forum come over to have a try with some different products, we concentrated on how to remove swirls with a PC.

    Products used:
    • ScratchX with the 7006 pad
      DC#1 with green DAS pad
AG SRP with green DAS pad
      #7 & #21 with Blue DAS pads

The only trouble we had was the sun, hot and sunny when we started, overcast when we finished. The first 2 photos are a before and after of some bird poo etching, which came up really well without W&Ding,

The left side is before and the right side is after 1 pass of ScratchX

    1: Working the ScratchX in

2: Showing each other how we work the PC

3: The first annual PC race

[b]4: The finished Hoods (that's all we had time for)

5: Trying to get #7 & #21 bottles to stand up (the owner wanted to stay mysterious)

6: Reflection of the Monaro in the Polo

7: Reflection of the Polo in the Monaro

    8: My favorite shot

Looking good. What is the streak on the front fender of the Monaro above the side marker light?

the dirty bits, due to the time we had, we just concentrated on the bonnet(hood)

Cool, looks like fun! I also didn't realize Holdens were exported under the Holden name to the UK. Cool!

Great job! In picture No. 3 I see a somebody with a G100 and an W7000 pad. I undersatand the W7000 is not designed to be used with the G100 machine.

                          Hi Carrera,

I think that pad is W-7006 which is for the G-100, although I thought it's best used with a bonnet over it for final polishing as it's that bit stiffer.

it was badged as Vauxhall, but the owner prefers the exclusivity of it being a Holden

it was a 7006 6 1/2" pad, worked really well too, i found it alot easier to work with than the 7" DAS cutting pad.

i think the 8" is just to big and doesnt allow you to concentrate on smaller imperfections.

did someone say 4"spot pads for 2006?
