  • Maserati Detail

This is a Maserati I detailed a few months ago. It had some swirls but I dont have any before pictures.

    My process:

    Wash with NXT
    Clay
    DACP with the rotary
    Swirl Free Polish with DA
    Machine Glaze with DA
    #20 with DA

    Interior:
    Steam Cleaned the Carpet
Meguiars Gold Class Leather Cleaner and Leaner Conditioner on about 95% of the interior since it was all leather.
Hyper-dressing on the little plastic pieces it had.

This car took over 9 hours to do but was a lot of fun.

what pad did you use with the swirl free polish #2. Im assuming polishign. Also did it leave any hazing? What kind of steamer do you use on carpets? Looks Amazing!

        Thanks

If I remember correctly I used a finishing pad. I started working it with setting of 5 then went down to 3 to finish it off. I did not notice any hazing. I didnt feel I needed a polishing pad because I had the rotary at a slow speed with a finishing pad also.

I have a Mytee steam cleaner. Can't remember off the top of my head what model though.

            Thanks for the comments

                Re: Maserati Detail

                Awesome job.
I worked on an 07 Maserati GranSport today, but it totally laughed at the 70'' SB2.0 Yellow pad with 105 and 205 on speed 5 with the G110. Both had absolutely no effect on the paint. Apparently the clearcoat is very hard to work with...

Ironically, as I was walking back to my car (parked in a gravel lot), a small stone was kicked up by my sandal and took a chip out of my Civic's soft paint .

Any advice? When I save up enough, I'll switch to a different brand's smaller orange pad. And if 105 is the most aggressive polish Megs produces and I'm not getting the corrective results I desire, what are my options? 105 seems to be fine on softer paints, but on luxury vehicles (and even some that aren't), I find it to be quite weak.
