  • Thank you Meguiar's! (Sorry 56K!... pics inside!)

I spent all day on this boat today, and while it has a good starting point of being fairly new (I think it's an '03?), this was one of the better finished products that I've done...

And hopefully, the powers that be at Meguiar's will realize why I *NEED* the bigger containers of the NXT All Metal Polysh... the pictures show why!

This is a full detail, using the #54 pink gel wash, #50 one-step cleaner/wax, Flagship Marine wax, #69 aerosol Quick Wax, #16 Clear plastic detailer, and of course, the NXT all metal polysh... 3 cans worth. All of it was done by hand... no buffer, no rotary, no d/a...

Typically, if I'm at a marina, I'll get one or two people in passing ask me for a business card... they're being printed! AAAHHH!!

So, today, I was out there ALLL day, and as I was finishing up, within the last hour or so, SIX people came and gave me THEIR numbers, and said, "You can start on my boat as soon as this one is done." Wow. Never in my life would I have expected something like that! One of the boaters, he's probably pushing 70-75 or so, says to me, "You don't see too many young guys doing everything by hand... that's an old man's game... now everybody has buffers and stuff, it's good to see someone perfecting the lost art of manual detailing... nice job. You're more than welcome to get started on mine next week."

I couldn't have done it without ya', Meguiar's! THANK YOU!

Wow, thats a lot of shine. Looks awesome.

I wonder, do you do only the topside of the boat or do you also do the sides above the water line?

Do you have any issues with wash water runoff into the ocean?

        Excellent pictures!

Note: The walkways (On the side of the boats that I've seen so far) look rather narrow to me.

I wouldn't want to be caught out there in heavy swells.

The Meguiar's RV/Boat gel wash is bio-degradeable, and is environmentally safe... I'd actually pick this over simple green.

Gragcavi, this is one thing that Carver prides themselves on. It's a BEAUTIFUL boat.... just like Sea-Ray's, however, the build quality is lacking severely. The hulls are some of the thinnest on the market. It's been documented several times of Carvers splitting completely in half in 10 foot seas. Sea-Rays lose their structural stability in about 12 foot seas. Granted, that's BIG water, but they really aren't designed to be going that far offshore with. They are designed to be sexy, sleek, beautiful boats that all the girls want to hang out on, and party in the river or the ocean in calm seas. Bottom line, the GIRLS buy the boat. The guy finances it, but the girls pick it out, hence, why Sea-Rays are so popular as well... sexy boat, nice price, decent build. Not meant for big water.

Rusty Bumper, that's why you stay inside the boat

Never knew that the Searay 67 footer is nice, im sure that is made to handle more then 12ft seas. I wonder how the Sunseeker 75ft+ handle seas, since those are full off shore ocean boats.
