  • Nissan Juke Interior - Mommy car before the kid is even born!

Background on this one: This is my sister's car. She is 8 months prego and the last time her car was cleaned as about 3-4 years ago... last time I did it. Her husband was using it as a work truck for a while and absolutely trashed it. He takes care of vehicles about like a 3 year takes care of hotwheels.

I wanted to make sure I really got the disgustingness out before the crib midget shows up.

Sorry for the potato quality cell phone pics. I was in a hurry to get the pictures done because I had a lot of work ahead of me.

    Before shots:

Carpets were bad.... and Nissan carpet is really cheap. Seems to hold all the dirt and not easily release it.

1st Attempt was hitting it with the vacuum. I got the loose stuff but most of the dirt was embedded.
2nd Attempt: I grabbed the air pen and kept the compressor running for a while. Blew out as much as I could, and then hit it with the vacuum again. Better, but still not quite there yet.
3rd Attempt: Carpet brush the rest up as mush as possible and follow the carpet brush with air, then vacuum.

At this point it was clean enough to hit with the carpet extractor. Sprayed down the carpets with D101 @10:1 lightly. Then agitated and extracted until I saw no more foam. Some spots took a few attempts. There was at least 3 coffee spills that I could tell.

Next up was door panels and the dash. I skipped trying to be nice with this and pulled out the steamer. D101@10:1 again, used an interior brush, and then used the steamer to wash the panel down. I am a big fan of this method. Seemed to really get things clean.

Finally onto the leather. I scrubbed with D181 and a brush. The steamer came out to play again, this time with the triangle attachment. This made pretty quick work of the leather.
A nice 50/50 shot of the driver seat:

8 hours later, the car was cleaned up enough to get everything dressed.

I woke up the next day and started on that. The dash, door panels, and all of the plastics got Ultimate Protectant. The leather got Ultimate Leather Balm (which is quickly becoming a go to for leather for me),

The black plastics on the center dash section were a bit scratched up. Blackfire PnS to the rescue!

Last up was glass. Cleaned the outside first to be able to check for streaks, then hit the inside.

Enough babbling from me, here are the results:

Looks much better thanks for sharing! Dry brushing carpet works so well and is often a technique that is unknown or overlooked. Vacuum, Brush, Vaccum again.

It works very well, especially for stubborn carpets that seem to really hold dirt in the fibers. That and compressed air if available are extremely helpful.
