1968 Ferrari GT 2+2 had recently completed a full restoration in Beverly Hills, California

This model was the best selling in the Ferrari line, with about 800 produced in 4 years.

As a reference, Ferrari sold 5,380 458 Italia during a four year stretch from 2011-2014.

At some point prior to this restoration some sections of the vehicle had been re-painted.

Paint thickness readings ranged from 160 microns to over 400 microns on the repainted sections.

Interestingly, the repainted sections were clear coated and the original paint is single-stage. This made the polishing interesting as the re-painted sections were more difficult to finish down, than the original paint.

I did not want to get this vehicle soaking wet, so a Rinseless wash was completed using Meguiar's D114.

Followed by claying with traditional clay and the Speedy Prep Fine Clay Towel

The emblems on many classic cars are bolted on.

They loosen over time and tend to leave deep gouges in the paint.

These were lightened by hand sanding with 1500 and 2000 Unigrit Blocks.

There were many RIDS and lots of swirls on every inch of the vehicle.

Compounding: Meguiar's M100, Lake Country Hybrid Wool, FLEX 3401

Polishing: Meguiar's M205, Lake Country Flat Black, FLEX 3401

LSP: Collinite 845, machine applied with Lake Country Red CCS

    Engine Compartment was not detailed

A pair of Testarossas for another day...I hope

Nice turn around on that one. I bet the shop and or owner was thrilled with the results.
