Hey everyone,
Hope everyone likes the pictures. Taken on my crappy iphone camera so I will be the first to say they don't do the paint justice. It looks great. These were taken today, one week after a full detail on my daily driver. The car sees 60 miles minimum a day highway/street and no garage. I do my best to maintain it inside and out using Meguiar's products almost exclusively. The detail included a wash, clay, polish, and wax. Today's just included a wash and spray wax. I had actually meant to just do a review on the new Meguiar's Hot Shine Reflect, but ended up taking a bunch of over the top pics while I was at it. Couldn't help myself..
That said there are numerous pictures of the tires for this reason. I did my best to capture the unique 'effect' given off by the Reflect.
The detail last week was probably the hardest I've ever worked on a car's paint. 10 hours straight all by hand and all outdoors. Not ideal conditions, a little colder than I would have wanted. No garage and living in the city means resorting to some interesting tactics! The ultimate polish was a complete pain in the a$$. While the result was a beautiful smooth as glass look (especially after the clay), the wind and cool temperatures made for an extremely fast dry time. At one point it started drying almost the second I put it on. I actually drove it back into the sunlight a few times to let the paint warm up before retreating to a shady spot on the street. When it would dry too fast I used a bit of Quik Detailer to loosen it up. Excellent stuff, but the next time I use it I'll wait for perfect conditions.
