  • Detailed 2014 Venza

Finally getting around to doing a posting. I gave my wife's Venza a good winter detail a few weeks ago. Here are some pictures. I kept seeing all the hype on Colinite 845 so I wanted to give it a try since I just applied UW on my daily driver. Thought it would be a good comparison. Will do the same winter maintenance on the two with QW.

Thanks, it has a great metallic flake that really pops now that I have done all the right things with DA polishing and such. In the sun it has some blue metallic that comes out.

I love it. I have used it twice now and love it even more. Get done in a fraction of the time of clay bar. For $30 on eBay I am going to pick up another just to have.

Attach it to your DA and put on a speed of 3 with a lube of your choice. I use D155 Megs Last Touch. Make a few passes over the area and move on. I think it gets the surface more smooth than clay. I haven't had a chance to use it on a moderately contaminated vehicle yet though. Don't have to worry about dropping it or kneading it. Still need clay for the tight spots. They do sell other Nanoskin products that are available for sale that can be used for those tight spots.

Is your autoscrubber fine or med. grade?
I have a med. grade Speedy Prep Towel and so far I like it alot. I've used it on 2 vehicles and havnt noticed any marring so far.. But I want to pick up a fine grade just in case.

I agree! I'm dying to get a Daytona wheel brush cuz I only have 1 of those 6" brushes and it makes it so difficult to get in the wells. I want that and some wheel brightner baaadddd!!!! But I like how u hit the ground running and getting all the right tools to do the job. So what's next a tornador black, steamer, the new meguiars da, or a carpet extractor?

Looking good. Really nice job. Did you put anything on the wheels to seal them?

No, I haven't done that yet. I ran out of time and day light that day. They had UW from this summer but I am going to give them a coat of Collinite in the garage. We didn't drive that car this weekend or it would be covered in salt that time of year i guess.

Mine is the fine grade. I bought it with the intention of mainly using it on my own cars which wouldn't be that bad. I plan on picking up the med grade one to have for those more neglected jobs i do like that Tahoe, or my aunts Acadia. Thanks to Jarhead for encouraging me to get one.

Yeah, that was one of my main goals when we got the new car was to never let the barrels get too bad. So far with the wheel master they have been easy to keep clean. I worry about this winter when I am not able to get out with a bucket and hose and have to rely on going through a car wash, but I guess when it warms up I will get out my brush and my wheel cleaner and go to town.

No, I think I am about done buying for awhile. The DA I bought should last me for some time I think. lol. Although I have thought that one of those 3 inch ones would be nice for small areas. I would love a carpet extractor/cleaner, but just don't want to spend the money on that. I bought a steamer at Harbor Freight and it is doing the job so it is ok for now. I wish that needed some things thought with AG 25% off. lol
