  • 2002 Mercedes Bens S500

This car turned out to have fairly hard paint and plenty of deep scratches, I used a MicroFiber Cutting Pad with two sets of passes in order to get majority of the blemishes out. Some were too deep and I noticed the pads had black dust after each set of passes; you win some you lose some. Any kind of TLC given to this car were at car washes with occasional wax applications at these facilities.

    Products used:
    Microfiber cutting pad
    M100
M205 with rotary (including head/tail lights)
    M21 synthetic sealant
    NXT spray wax

The engine bay was sprayed/wiped down with Purple Power and sprayed/wiped with water base tire dressing then allowed to dry.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Dealing with hard, badly swirled black paint - one of the great joys of detailing!!!

So do we have this right - you corrected with a DA buffer and the microfiber system, then finished with M205 on a rotary buffer? Sweeeeet!!!!

You got it Mike! Correcting with the DA and microfiber system did leave some holograms in the paint. But I wasn't worried, M205 on a rotary took them out with ease!
