Detailed 2008 Chevy Tahoe

So, I detailed my friends 2008 Chevy Tahoe this weekend. 110,000 miles. Sits outside. I don't think it has ever been waxed. Talk about beading. There was no beading of water on any part of this truck when I washed it. He is getting ready to sell it and wanted it cleaned up. I wanted to practice my skills with my new DA since I had not used it on my own car yet. Here are some pictures and my process. All and all I am pretty impressed with how it came out. And if it was something he were keeping I would have used some different products like ULP instead of Cleaner Wax, but wanted to use it up and it did the job and since he was selling it I was just trying to make it look nice for him. Unfortunately I was not able to take the pictures in the exact same light setting.

Exterior:

• Wash Megs Endurance
• Cleaned engine bay
• Cleaned rims/tire D143
• Clay Bar
• UC on spots that had heavy scratching with DA
• Megs Cleaner Wax by DA on the whole truck
• D161 on tires and wheel wells
• Megs Black Restorer product on black plastic trim and running boards

Interior:

• Shampooed entire interior carpet with Bissell Spot Bot and Simple Green as the cleaner. (I had put in an order of D101 but it didn't make it here on time to use on this car
• Steam cleaned leather seats and all other interior components
• Wiped down interior
• Spot cleaned head line with steam cleaner
• Cleaned windows

Turned out awesome. Great job on the carpets too. How u like the da? U ever think bout switching from clay to the nanoskin auto scrubber? Joe from superior shine has a YouTube video on a review of it. Cuts ur time in half for claying, plus u don't have to worry about dropping it cuz u can just rinse it off, with clay u have to throw it away. Anyhow it really looks good, did u get the door jambs too? Keep up the great work, seems u keep improving with every detail.

Thanks everyone. I couldn't do it without the help from all of you. The DA was wonderful. The only issue I had, and I suppose it is just the learning curve of using one is I found myself wanting to move faster than I should and had to remind myself to slow down. But my friend was very happy with the results.

Jarhead, I am not familiar with this nano skin product you speak of so I will have to look it up. I am open to new things for sure and if it saves time that is always a plus.

One thing I was surprised with was this truck didn't seem to have a lot of swirls. I am guessing that is because he doesn't wash it that often. Any washing it sees would be from a touch less car wash I am sure.

Without any "before" images showing paint defects we are left to imagine how bad this Tahoe looked before you started, but.............

Given the state of the interior and the general filthiness of the engine bay, and knowing that the truck sits outside all the time and has likely never been waxed, we can only imagine that the paint was at the very least quite dull in appearance, regardless whether it was a swirled mess or not. But the depth, clarity and "pop" shown in the hood shots is pretty darn fantastic! And if this was your first go with a DA, then it's even better than fantastic! In fact, the entire transformation both inside and out is pretty darn fantastic! Nicely done!!

Thanks for all the comments. Yes, the first time using a DA. And Glad I have one. Here are a couple of before shots of the hood. I didn't include them earlier because they were kind of the lighting but here they are anyways. I guess you professions can still see the difference. I could see the paint difference as I worked it. I am really excited to get into using my Megs professionional products too.
