  • 06 RSX Type S - First Time Using DA

    Hi Everyone,

This is my first write up. I hope the phone pics are adequate .

I got a Megs g110v2 DA a few weeks ago and I've been itching to try it out. This was my first time using a DA so I was very excited.

Here is how a summary of my procedure:

    1. Wash with Gold Class Wash
    2. Dry with Meg Water Magnet with a bit of Mother's Detailer as lubrication and to get rid of any spots from the wash.
    3. IronX on the sides and wheels. I don't think I needed it on the rest of the car.
    4. Clayed with Mother's clay kit
    5. Megs White Wax (1 pass)
    6. Megs Gold Class Wax (1 pass) (on the wheels too)
    7. Megs PlastX on the headlights and taillights

    Here are some pictures:

Ironx at work on the door and wheels.

    Before any wax was applied.

    About to begin the waxing.

    Final result.

I am pretty happy with the results. I contemplated using Ultimate Compound + Polish, but I decided to give the white wax a try after reading several reviews on this forum. I was able to remove some fine swirls on my car with it and it left a pretty shiny finish. I decided to add a layer of gold class to give it that extra depth and I think it turned out pretty well.

Thanks everyone for reading. Any feedback is welcome!

Nicely done! Your car is the perfect candidate for White Wax - a light colored vehicle that's a few years old and in need of a brightening of the color. For someone purchasing a brand new white car, don't expect to see some major transformation in appearance with this product, but in this situation where fine swirls have accumulated over time and some embedded dirt has dulled the color down, White Wax is a killer one step product. Remember, it's a potent cleaner wax with SMAT abrasives in it, which explains why this Acura has a brighter, crisper look to it after using White Wax. Your choice of a yellow polishing pad rather than a black finishing pad was a good one here, too, since it added a bit more cut to the mix and maximized your results with the product. And that is one bright, clean looking RSX!

Thanks for the responses guys . I think the lighting in the before and after pictures kind of exaggerated the whitening, but it does look whiter than before.

I hope to be doing my black TSX soon which has some pretty serious swirls. I'll make a separate thread for that.

Very nice results. White wax is what got me into detailing. My paint looked so much better after the first use that I knew I was missing out.
Quick question, why is it that you did not use Iron X on the hood or roof? When I first applied Iron X to my white vehicle those were the parts that bled the most.

I chose to only do the sides of the car because those were the only places where I could visibly see tiny rust spots. The hood and roof looked pretty clean. Having said that, perhaps you're right that I should have done the hood and roof as well since there might be contaminants that aren't visible to the eye. I'll try that next time .
