  • 4 step correction for my folks :)

So I tried the DUB wheel cleaner on my parents Chevy Trailblazer a few days ago and they were very happy with the results. I guess you could say they like having a clean shiny car but don't know too much about the proper steps it takes to clean, protect & maintain the cars appearance.
But the good thing is they appreciate a clean ride, so today I decided to wash their SUV, and get a closer look to see if it could be "Meguiarized"

1st thing you notice about this suv is swirls...

So I decided my test area would be the passenger door and gave it a good claybar [it was extremely full of contaminents]
Once smooth I went at it with Ultimate Compound on a Lake Country Orange Flat pad. Not only was the paint covered in deep swirls, but it was also stained all around in water spots.

To my pleasant surprise, the water spots literaly disappeared as soon as I turned the DA on. I almost turned it off a few seconds into it just to make sure something wasn't going wrong because the paint looked too different after just 1 pass! So I finished my test spot and not only were the water spots 100% gone, but so were all the swirls & scratches! Oh yea!

The defects were coming off so easy I decided to try the UC on a White polishing pad and had the same results. If anything, the White pad left an even cleaner finish!

I had such an easy go with this paint that instead of just a test panel, I ended up claying, compounding, polishing & waxing almost the whole side of the SUV in less than 5hrs!
I can't believe how great it looks! I was even able to witness the "darkening" effect Ultimate Polish is able to provide on dark colored paint for the 1st time since using it.

I can't believe this whole side [minus the front fender] is now flawless. Now I'm going to have to teach my father about the 2 bucket method and get him a proper mit & some Gold Class. Lol.

Here's a better look at the front fender, which I didn't do yet. That's pretty much how the whole side of the suv looked before.

                Thanks!

I just finished detailing the interior. I cleared everything out including any papers in the cubby holes, then swept the seats & carpet with a small dust broom before hitting it with the vacuum. This car never goes to a "car wash" so there was tons of dust that came out.. I topped it off by dressing the dash, door panels & floorboards with the Megs Leather Cleaner&Conditioner. Man this little vehicle sure cleans up well! My mom was stoked about her interior looking so clean. Lol.
I guess the sweeping of the carpet made a difference, because she thinks I shampoo'd the carpet. I went ahead and just nodded my head and said "everything's clean"! Lol.

Now I'm gonna ride my bike to the convenient store and pick up a couple of energy drinks and hopefully finish polishing the other side of the car by this afternoon
