  • A new toy to detail...

My wife and I just purchased a 2014 Ford Edge SEL AWD with all the bells and whistles... the color is White Platinum Pearl, it has a charcoal leather interior with heated seats, navigation, Sync power lift gate, panoramic sunroof and lots of other goodies. We traded in her 2007 Ford Edge SEL AWD. I was on duty at the firehouse on Christmas day, I brought her 2007 Edge SEL AWD into work t and gave it a good cleaning before we trade her in tomorrow. I did the interior in my garage on Christams Eve, taking out all of wifey's "stuff". Even though we traded her in, she had served us well and deserved to be pampered one last time. I did my usual meticulous wash and undercarriage rinse, it took me 2 hours to do it due to the amount of road grime and salt from the last couple of storms.

Here is her new car.. I can't wait to detail it once the weather warms up.

Beautiful purchase. Always a good idea to get started right away to remove DISO and get protection applied ASAP.

No DISOs.. they did not wash it (they know me very well, having bought 5 vehicles from them since 1992 .

The only thing they did was take off the protective plastics and put on ther license plates. I gave it a proper wash and applied a layer of NXT until I can do a proper detail, with my LSP being #21 synthetic sealant.

Nice, and congrats on the new ride. It says a lot about a car when you stay with the exact same make/model when it's time to replace.

Nice! They are very nice vehicles to drive/ride in for the segment. You are lucky you didn't have any swirls... I just got a new 2014 Focus ST and it was HAMMERED beyond belief. Took 4 days to correct and seal!
