  • 2006 Ford Falcon GT

    Hi guys,

Picked up a very neat 2006 Ford Falcon GT last week in the rare Breeze colour, 33 made out of 5,000 or so B-series GTs.Was in good condition and showed very little on the clay. Paint has no scratches or swirls, just very shallow RIDS viewable under white light only - obviously been polished lightly but showed no signs of recent LSP application. No dints either, so no PDR work required.

For now I've brought out a lot of the clarity using a bit of trusty Megs Cleaner Wax. What a great product, the more experienced I get, the more I use it. A mega-detail will follow in the summer break.

    Nice ride!

I can't believe you got it with no swirls - maybe you're not looking hard enough! lol

What have you got planned for the "mega-detail"?

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

I am so jealous of the cars you Aussies have! I wanted a U.S. spec Holden Monaro (Pontaic GTO) so bad! The Falcon looks beautiful!

I'd probably go M105 (get rid of those minor RIDS and thin the clear coat a bit to amplify the flake pop), M205, and Zymol Concours x2 to finish. Glass needs an exterior polish to get rid of waterspots. Interior will get a good leather clean and wet vac and glass clean. Tyres need a good de-grease.

Hey Slicked, Very nice ride. I agree with Ghawk, you guy's have some great rides over there!

What size engine is in that sweet ride? How about some engine pics, and ya the cleaner/wax is a great product, one of the best!

Job I used to have, I would keep the 2 vans washed and waxed all the time and that's the product I used but in the paste version (I'm a paste wax junkie!) and found out that even in the cold winter months the cleaner/wax paste did one fantastic job!

Nice. There is something wrong in the universe when we can't have something like this or the Holden, too.

                    Very nice!

Thanks, this car is running a 5.4 litre Boss V8 with upgraded exhaust, intake and tune. Sounds fantastic, absolutely loving it.

I do like the liquid cleaner/wax, I have been using the same bottle for 3 years now, seems to last forever. Might throw on a coat of Gold Class next time now that the paint is cleansed.

I'd like to see it with a wax that has a little more "pop". Looks great!

Thanks. Yeah there is a lot more that can be achieved with this paint, but I'm glad to have it all cleared of contaminants now and wearing an entry-level wax for relatively little effort.
