  • Civic Interior Makeover lots of pics

The owner is going to sell the car and wanted the interior cleaned up. Tons of dog hair and stains in the carpet. The headliner was pretty rough too.

    We used
    APC
    Aztec Extractor
    DA with brush head
    Hyper Dressing
    Glass cleaner concentrate
    several pet hair removal devices
    Adams carpet cleaner.

The lighting did change. We had to work in the garage since it started t rain. It's awesome having detail work on rainy days.

    Nice work Scrub!

How would you compare the Aztec extractor to others you have seen/used?

How does this compare to a steamer? Anthony Orosco posted on the corvetteforum that he uses a steamer for his interior work.

I do detailing part time as a small side job and I am looking for an extractor to add to my tool kit. Any advise you have would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the reply and questions...

I really have only used the LGM and my aztec. I really love the aztec. Granted there are better extractors out on the market but my budget's so tight the shoe string broke. I just couldn't see investing $1200-1500 or more last year (my first year part time) if I wasn't in this for the long haul. Kind of the same boat your in. I feel more comfortable selling interior details now rather than when I used the LGM or shop vac methods. I felt the need to step up to ensure a higher quality of work.

With regards to the steamer. I can't talk to that option either. The commercial machines are pricey, but I'm sure they're versatile and very useful. Maybe one day I will try one. This season is about streamlining my products,(get the right products that perform multi functions rather than carry 100's of different products) and maybe stepping up to the rotary. The steamer will have to wait unless there is a sleeper machine out there that works well and is relatively inexpensive.

Thanks and we'll talk again later.

Nice job on that interior. The rotary will cut your time in half, specially on the heavily swirled cars.

Outstanding work, I really despise cleaning interiors, especially when you know that they are going to get trashed again. What dilution are you using for hyper dressing for interior use?

I use 3:1 for now. I think 3:1 is still a bit too shiny.
