I picked this absolutely neglected E38 up a few weeks ago. 80k actual miles. runs and drives great. Just needed some TLC. Paint needed restoration, wheels had baked on and etched in brake dust, head light and tail light lenses needing restored, interior was horrendous. After many long nights with my amateur detail, she is finally something that I am proud to drive.

Interior was a complete scrub down. Pulled as many pieces as I could to flush with hot water. Lots of sticky soda in the console pieces.

    Exterior:
    -flush out all door jambs
-wheels- wheel cleaner x 2, 2000 wet sand, M205 polish
-head and tail light lenses- wet sand 1000,1500,2000. M105, M205 polish, M27 wax
-paint- wash, clay, wash, M205 with yellow pad, M27 wax.

It will be a daily driver.

What an amazing turn around! That poor car was trashed and now it looks like it's been babied it's whole life - nice work! Are we seeing a different tread pattern on the tires in the "after" shots? Those old tires really needed to go.

Thanks. Tires were swapped with new Nitto 555...255/45 front; 275/40 rear. They fill the wheels a lot nice than the old, dry rotted 235s did.

How can anyone neglect an awesome car like that E38 BMW? Luckily, you did a great job inside and out. Almost looks like a new car, now you can definitely say the car looks as good as it runs..

            Wow, amazing work!

I'm surprised M205 had enough cut to remove any defects. Or weren't there many once the paint was clean?

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

I used m105 on the hood and a few spots needing more attention. The goal was never total paint correction as this will be a daily driver. This color is also great at hiding flaws. Black is beautiful, but I will never drive black everyday!
