Car is a 2012 Elantra touring. I did a test spot with D151, and it didn't remove enough defects for me personally. I did a second test with UC and it came out great. So on I went with UC, until I got to the hood. The hood had some pretty bad etching on it, that UC would not take out. M105 would probably have gotten it, but as you can see I got pressed for time in a hurry. The car had been to the beach the night before so it was COVERED, so much so that overnight the ants took over and I came out to find ants had overtaken the bumper. It cleaned up nice, but it is worth noting a couple of things. 1) This is the DRIEST paint I have ever worked on. Even my DD which rarely gets attention these days, is easier to run a finger over. I can only equate it to the sound a squeegee makes on a window, or the sound a latex glove makes with pulled over your hand. This paint could bring my hand to a hault, it was so grabby. It hasnt been touched since purchase in FEB '12, so I am sure that is why. 2) The body lines on these cars are awful, and can make working with a large pad, difficult. A smaller pad would have made this quite a bit easier. 3) It is a metallic black paint, which I generally dislike because I never feel like it is clean enough. I spent more time searching for missed wax to wipe off, than I did waxing it. 4) A first for me, what happens when a random summer downpour starts while the wax is curing? Nothing it looked like, product was still easy to wipe off. I added another coat so I could sleep at night, but I doubt it needed it. Gold class has always been my go to for black cars or trucks, the depth it leave is awesome. I decided to try it on a metallic black and the pop factor works just as good as I had hoped.

    Process:
    Gold class wash
    Clay
    UC/Orange pad
    Gold class wax-2 coats
    Sonax on wheels
    UB on trim

The interior still needs a good bit of attention, especially after a trip to the beach, but this was exterior only on this one.

Edit: Car is an Elantra limited, not touring. It wont let me edit my post, or at least I dont see the button for it?

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Nice! I just wonder how much difference a pure polish (M07 or Deep Crystal) or Ultimate Polish would make, but the car does look great. I am a fan of M07's richness but not its ease of use, and in my experience, really adds more depth to dark paint.

I thought about using the M05, being it is so humid. But I skipped it because it looked like UC took care of most everything. If I had more time I would have started with 105/205 combo and went with M05.
