  • Water Spots, Ink Marks and a Melted Sucker, No Problem

Gesh! Anything else you want to tackle?
I'm glad I have the knowledge and tools to fix just about any problem thrown at me.

This customer is one of my first. She listens to me and tries to take care of her car herself and she does a great job. But when it get to much for her she knows how to call....
    Super Mario!

No problem to me I'm a Video Game Character. Where's my magic mushrooms?

    Washed, Speedy Prep Towel
Rupes 21- 5" MF Cutting Pad
    G100- 3" MF Cutting Pad
Dyna Cone (but I didn't take any picks while doing the grill)
    New Meguiar's Water Spot Remover
    M20 Sealant

    Before pics

This is more then your average "Water Spotting", this is "Puddling". The water is puddling and leaving a big "water spot". She parks on a sloped driveway thus making here hood level with the ground so the water can't run off so the water puddles.
Another thing about these spots is that I could feel them. They were bumps, kinda freaky. I hate bumps, it felt like it had a rash! Gives me the creeps as I write this too.
    Anyone else "felt" water "bumps"?

Headlights were difficult to work with, but I got this crud off.

    Don't forget the grill!

    As if that weren't enough
Ink? Sure I can take care of that.

apply ?, 10 sec later wipe, done!

How about a Melted Sucker? I SAID No Problem! lol, jk. I just added another $50 bucks to the bill.

    Spray, stab, vac, done!

Back to the paint defect removal

My customer rocks! She wanted to do this herself being a starving student. I told her if she ever wanted to get stuff for her car to buy only Meguiar's stuff. Another thing I love about Meg's is that I can tell my customer to go get stuff for themselves at the Auto Parts Store.
So she bought Meg's new WSR. Something I've been wanting to try so Wa-la!

    Tools for the job.

After about 8-10 passes with some pressure almost fixed it perfectly

I needed my 3" to really get at the edges of the lights and the paint to remove every last spot

Using a big pad, 5" or 6", won't get enough pressure in the cracks to remove the embedded WS

    6 hrs latter

A pad couldn't get into the cracks of the grill enough to remove the WS so I use my Dyna Cone to remove most then I took the 3" MF pad and got the real tight areas.

The spots on the side weren't as impressive as the hood so I didn't take before pics.
    They were your topical WS.

My customer, inspecting the car. AND getting in my shot! jk, she's awesome and loves her car and Meguiar's!

It's funny what people gravitate to on a post.
Same thing is happening over on AG.

      It's a Meg's 3" inch rotary BP and a DA adapter

The Lake Country Rotary to DA Adapter allows you to use a rotary backing plate with your variable speed dual action polisher. Convert from your rotary's 5/8-inch to your DA's 5/16-inch. The adapter can be tightened into backing plate with a wrench.

I got a call to remove ants out of an Escalde at the end of the day! I should have taken that job. It would have added some more shock to the post. lol

Nice work man, those were some narly water spots. I haven't tried that stuff yet, maybe I need to.

Why you gotta keep your secrets on the ink removal, especially since it only takes 10 seconds.

You like that BP more than the S3BP one? I've got both, but seem to gravitate towards the S3BP, but I don't really know why. What's better for you about the rotary with converter?

lol, I'm not keeping it a secret. the label is all messed up so I don't know exactly what it is.
It's an ink removal pen, I got it years ago and don't remember where I got it or what it's called.
S3bp broke on me, twice. So I went with a "meatier" version, works great and with the gap I can fit it into tight places.

I think used to have a couple of those pens and they worked great, but eventually ran out on me and I can't seem to find anything that works as good at removing ink as those did. Maybe I should look into it again outside of just car detailing products
