Meguiar's sent out a call for some volunteers to help out taking care of all the cars going up for The Russo & Steel Auction. Luckily I was chosen to help out. (man I love living in So. Cal)
I had a great day with a few other members of Meguiar's Online. I met a lot of car guys and the one of the owners of the Auction. Handed out my card to everyone...... a few days later I was called in my the owner to take care of his special cars!
Sweet!!!!!
I love volunteering, something always good comes from it and it this case a beautiful day of work.
After that shift I was called on by Meg's to volunteer for the night shift due to the dew the night before that made the wipe downs really hard. Of course I said yes and it turned into a good 12 hrs of wiping down millions and millions of dollars worth of cars.
Needless to say I had a great time, met some great people and made some money in the process so all in all volunteer when the opportunity comes up.
Looks like fun!

This looks like a great car to start on!

one of my cohorts.... John

Meguiar's Gold Class was the product to use on these pieces of art. A great detail spray, one of the best I've used. Comes off smooth and leaves a great shine.

Let's put a plane engine in a car, ok!

Very cool color on this beauty

Man I know this car! This is what I grew up detailing and mine was a hard top to boot.

and this poor baby.

You could have bought Kenny Bernstein's Funny Car!!

This was just a beautiful car.

This is the one I wanted. I was a street legal NASCAR!!!!! Different motor but what an awesome car.

see it's a really NASCAR, it has all the parts numbers.

That's a real license plate with current registration.

The next day I had to go to work for myself but then on Saturday Drew called me personally and hired me to take care of his special cars.
I got to park inside too.

First up was the first car on the auction block, a Jag.
It was dark in that tent so out came the Brinkman!

You have to get the angle just right in order to see properly

She looks good now.
Here I am sharing information about detailing to one of the auction buyers

Next up was a beautiful Benz with strict instructions to only use new towels on this beauty and take care of it until it sells.

Next on my sheet was The Stasrky and Hutch Gran Torino!!!!! I would have taken this one too!!!

Next was a GT 300

All smiles while I "work", man I love my job!

1951 Bug was my next job

The poor thing was hammered but still a great little Bug

Then it was back to the Benz. I had to watch this baby for 10 hours before it finally went up on the block, it sold for over $300K, and I take some responsibility for that, jk.

Late into the night I worked. Until the last car sold and it was one I worked on too. So cool.

11:30 and we were all done! What a day in the life of a Detailer.

A final shot as I limped away.
