Amazing results - My 1981 Ford Granada

Recently purchased this '81 Granada. It had been sitting for quite some time. It was a one owner with only 50k miles.

The paint was very heavily oxidized. I found the only thing that restored the gloss without taking off too much paint was to take a folded up terry cloth and use #105 (or similar) and scrub REALLY hard repeatedly until a gloss started appearing.

I then followed up with #205, #7 and then a wax. VERY pleased with the results, and I’m shocked at how much attention this unassuming little 80’s car gets after the work done so far.

That's got to be the best looking Granada still on the road. Good job on getting rid of the oxidation. Did you pay the asking price for it if you don't mind me asking? I know it had low miles and one owner but the price seemed high considering it's not a much sought after car like a camaro or corvette.

Thanks! Yea I have not seen another Granada like this anywhere in southern California, much less in this condition.

I paid $1700, which is what I was prepared to pay for a Fairmont which is what I originally wanted (a childhood thing). But when I saw this Granada, I liked it even better. Basically the same car but much more refined, and very quiet.

Turned out to be an amazing deal. Amazing how well the old thing handles and drives. 100% rock solid. I'd drive it cross country.

LOL...last time i saw a Granada was back in the late 80s...and it was not in good shape
