  • First time detailing my panther black ford focus

Alright, so I've been using meguire's products for a while now, but have never actually done a full detail of a car, so I decided that it's about time to give it my best and see what that gives us...

    What I did:
-wash the wheels with some random cheap wash&wax (didn't want to spoil any of the good stuff); and with megg's wheel spoke brush, and wheel face brush
-hose most of the dirt off, and wash the car with gold class shampoo, microfiber washmit and 2 buckets + grit guards
-dry most of it using a water magnet
-put up my EZ-up and clayed the whole car
-tape off all that plastic trim
-used ultimate compound with the DA and the yellow polishing pad (only have consumer line products...)
-applied black wax, also using the DA and the yellow pad
-applied megg's gold class carnauba plus paste wax by hand (I have liquid but this is my therapy )
-cleaned of those water spots from my wheels with ultimate detailer (don't have wheel detailer) and gave them some protection + shine with ultimate quick wax
-made the side mirrors and windows water repellent with ultimate quick detailer and wax again except for the windshield (window wipers don't seem to like it)
-used megg's ultimate protectant dash and trim restorer for the black trim pieces

The car's a year old, but looks better then when it left the factory

See the metallic pop up on that last one?

Ohw, and the endurance tyre gell application is from about 2 weeks ago, so I didn't bother doing that...

      Good work!

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

That black paint looks fantastic - just the way it should! Nicely done.

Simply the gel that comes with the "new car kit".

About those "before" pics, imagine this: the car never goes into the garage (garage is to small, and girlfriends convertable stays there), is driven daily through crappy Belgian weather, and the parking lot at my job is in the middle of the forest, meaning the car gets plenty of rain on the bad days, and gathers large amounts of dust on the good ones...

            Yep, it looked that bad.

Ohw, and my girlfriend thinks I'm crazy cause I wash and use gold class quick wax weekly...

P.s. Reason for finaly doing a full details is that the weather forecast predicts a pretty long dry period, so now I can at least enjoy that new car look for a while...
