  • My first DA/detailing experiance

I've never used a DA before and I got the Harbor Freight one for Christmas and got the foam pads too. I had very bad water spots on the car from years and years of sprinkler abuse. I haven't been the best maintenance guy with my exterior. Hoping to change that.
Need to clean up my work bench a bit=

Decided to remove a badge the previous owner put on the fender-

    Claybar-

Ultimate Compound with a tape line-

First fender UC (bottom) untouched door (top)

Door handle scratches taken out with UC by hand.
    Before-

    After-

Only did drivers side. Thats where all the h20 spots are. I'll do the other side in good time. Is it perfect? No. Is it 1000x better than before? Yes. Am I happy? Heck yeah.

Front bumper and headlights will be next. I want my headlights to be crystal clear. My buddy and I color matched the buckets, installed halos, and left a spider on my sidemarker. Its my favorite mod and I want it to SHINE!

    Cool, good work.

Big difference in that door handle!

How did you mod your headlights? Did you have to bake them?

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Yeah we put it in his oven for a few minutes at a time. Then scuffed all the chrome plating off, pulled off all the old sealant, and painted them cool vanilla. Reattached the lenses with new sealant and tied them up for a few hours. I've never had a condensation problem. Lenses are starting to yellow a bit and clear coat failing on the top. I'll probably end up picking up Meguiars headlight restoration kit.

Wow great job! You did a big improvement on the paint staining and the water spots. The door handle looks great also!!!
